In today’s economic environment, it’s tougher than ever for organized labor to hold on to the gains we’ve been able to achieve after years of hard work and struggle. It’s important that Local 2323 help elect officials who are friends of both our Local and of the labor movement overall. The best method we have to accomplish this is through Local 2323’s C.O.P.E. (committee on political education) – our PAC.
COPE, which is funded through voluntary contributions from our members, allows Local 2323 to have an impact on the political process at the local, state, and federal levels by giving us the financial means to help elect men and women who understand the concerns of working people and support our interests.
If you don’t currently contribute, call the Union Hall at (401) 946-2323 or ask your local steward for a COPE deduction card. Any amount you can contribute on a weekly basis will make our Local stronger by helping to guarantee that our collective voice as a union will be heard loud and clear by our political leaders.
